Artisans Vignerons de Naoussa, Skyphos 2019

Artisans Vignerons de Naoussa is a cooperative that share a passion for growing Xinomavro in the vineyards scattered throughout the hills of the Náoussa region in Northern Greece. Their partnership is built on a shared philosophy of sustainable and organic viticulture and a respect for the traditions of the region. Skyphos 2019 is made from 100% Xinomavro taken from limestone-rich vineyards scattered around northern Greece. The grapes were harvested, fermented slowly over the course of 2 months and aged for a further 5 months in large oak barrels prior to bottling. The nose has aromas of fresh raspberry, cranberry and black cherry on the nose; the palate has a more savoury-herby edge but still with plenty of fruit. The palate is well-structured as all good Xinomavro should be; with a good linear acidity which helps carry the pleasantly long finish.
